Terri Jean Schneider, age 66, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2026. She was born on January 15, 1960, to Orlin and Carol (Music) Chapman, in Akron, Ohio, where her story began. She lived a life defined by quiet kindness, devotion to others, and a deep love for the simple things that brought her joy.

Terri spent much of her life working as an aide, a role that reflected her caring nature and willingness to help those in need. She had a nurturing spirit that extended far beyond her work. One of her greatest joys was caring for animals especially her beloved cats. With remarkable dedication, she fed nearly 50 cats twice a day, a testament to her compassion and the gentle heart she carried.

In her younger years, Terri enjoyed playing softball during grade school, where she built friendships and memories that stayed with her throughout her life.

Terri will be remembered for her warmth, her generosity, and the quiet but powerful way she showed love-through her actions, her care, and her unwavering devotion to both people and animals.

She is survived by her loving husband, Darvid Schneider; her daughter, Erlita Schneider; her grandchildren, Jayden and Stryder; and her sister, Sherry Howard; nephews: Chris Orth, Jason Orth, and Kevin Wimberley Jr.; parents-in-law, Alvin and Erla Schneider; and brother-in-law, Kenneth Schneider. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion that will continue to live on in all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Orlin and Carol Chapman; and her granddaughter, Shelbi Sanborn.

Terri’s life was one of humble service and deep love, and she will be dearly missed.

The family is being served by the Burkhead-Green-Kilgo Funeral Home, 206 W. Lawrence Ave., Charlotte, Michigan, and no formal memorial services are being planned at this point.
