Patricia Mae Murphy

Patricia Mae Murphy, age 91, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 10, 2026. She was born on April 3, 1934, in Sheridan, Michigan the daughter of Burrell and Ruth (Hart) Henry. Pat graduated from Marshall High School with the class of 1951. On September 21, 1952, she married Sidney Murphy in Marshall.

Pat devoted much of her life to her family and her career, working side by side on the farm with her husband. She was also deeply involved in her community and was known for her dedication to agriculture. Pat went on to make significant contributions as a member of the Michigan Cattleman’s Association Board for 20 years. Furthermore, she served as president of the Cattlewomen for two years and was honored as the Michigan Cattleman's Association Member of the Year in 1996. Her efforts in the community did not stop there; Pat organized several out-of-state agriculture tours and worked at the State Fair booth and Michigan Beef Expo for many years. Additionally, she was a devoted 4-H Leader for over 40 years, impacting the lives of many young people along the way. Pat and Sid were proud to have been inducted into the Michigan Farmers Hall of Fame in 2004.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sidney in 2018; sister, Sally Henry; brother, Jack Henry; grandson, Jeremy Murphy; Jimmy Shea (Denise).

She is survived by her children, Brian Murphy, Brenda (Peter) Blauwiekel and Denise Murphy; grandchildren: Jessica (Joshua) Darrow, Beth (Chad) Gruden, Joseph (Megan Thoma) Blauwiekel; great grandchildren: Emma Darrow, Avery Darrow, Adalee Gruden, Chandler Gruden, Jackson Joseph Blauwiekel; brothers: Robert (Marilyn) Henry, Terry (Elaine) Henry; brother-in-law, Leon Murphy; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

A memorial gathering and ice cream social will be held in her honor on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Burkhead-Green-Kilgo Funeral Home, located at 206 W. Lawrence Ave, Charlotte, MI 48813.
