Lanny L. Rowe, age 79, entered into heaven with his Savior, Jesus Christ on February 9, 2026.
He was born on April 6, 1946 in Lansing, Michigan; the youngest of 6 children born to Charles E. Rowe and Velma L. (Billips). He lived a life to the fullest- unshaken by very little. He served in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper & told many stories of being the base's pastry and bakery chef. He used the knowledge even later, enjoying cooking whenever he could. He compassed the United States with a semi for years, travelling to all but 3 states, and had hundreds of stories to tell along with the memories. He enjoyed spontaneous road trips, even with his family, commonly exclaiming, “sit back and enjoy the ride" when asked where they were going. Camping, fishing, hunting, tinkering in the garage, or finding things to do with his tractor is where it was most common to find him.
He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Sandra (Conklin), 2 daughters, Lana Oliver (Matt) of East Jordan, Michigan, and Leeann Burcham (Jamie) of Mulliken, Michigan. He loved his 5 grandchildren, Ty, Garrett, Ava, Gwen & Gibson. Also surviving are 2 siblings; Margie Martin of Harrison, Michigan, and Jeffery (Janet) Rowe of Madisonville, Tennessee.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 1 P.M. at the Burkhead-Green-Kilgo Funeral Home with a luncheon to follow.
