Judy Kay Stevens

Judy Kay Stevens, age 77, of Charlotte, passed away on September 30, 2026, in Lansing, Michigan. She was born on October 18, 1948, in Coldwater, Michigan, the daughter of Richard and Marian (Sloan) Hicks. 

Judy was a 1966 graduate of Tecumseh High School. She went on to work as a secretary for the State of Michigan. She retired from the State of Michigan after many faithful years of service. On February 5, 1999, Judy married Larry Bruce Stevens in Charlotte. 

She was someone who loved to stay busy and be on the go. Judy found great enjoyment in traveling to Disney World, taking trips to the casino, attending classic car shows, and making her daily morning visits to McDonald’s for coffee with friends. Those simple routines and favorite outings were part of the life she enjoyed and the memories she leaves behind.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents. 

She is survived by her husband, Larry; sons, Craig (Angela) Trayer of Port Charlotte, Florida, Eric Trayer of Jackson, Michigan; grandchildren: Alex (Ciara) Trayer of Salt Lake City, Utah, Andrew Trayer of Lebanon, New Hampshire, Paige Trayer of Eaton Rapids, Michigan, Phoebe Trayer of Eaton Rapids, Michigan; great-grandchildren: Georgia Holman, Ryann Holman; siblings: Rick Hicks, Scott (Mary) Hicks, Larry (Kelly) Hicks, Michael (David Afleje) Hicks; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. 

In keeping with Judy's wishes, cremation will take place and she will be laid to rest with her parents at Maple Hill Cemetery.
