Jaylin Thomas Butler

Jaylin Thomas Butler, born on October 23, 1998, in Albion, Michigan, left this world far too soon on January 21, 2026. His passing, a heartbreaking loss, came unexpectedly as a result of an automobile accident. In his brief time with us, Jaylin touched the lives of many with his warmth and joyous presence.

A dedicated worker in the construction trade, Jaylin built and restored barns, pouring not only his skill but also his passion into each project. His craftsmanship was a reflection of his character—thoughtful, diligent, and always with an eye towards strengthening the bonds of community and family.

Jaylin’s most cherished role was that of a father. He adored his children, nurturing them with love and guiding them through life's lessons with wisdom beyond his years. Family meant everything to him; he maintained strong, lasting connections with his loved ones, always ready to share a laugh or lend a helping hand. His beautiful smile became a symbol of the joy he brought into the lives of those around him.

Jaylin was known for his loving nature, easily filling a room with laughter and camaraderie. He thrived on creating memories with friends and family, embracing each moment with an abundance of enthusiasm. Whether it was a simple gathering or a grand celebration, Jaylin was often the heart of the occasion, ensuring that good times were shared and fond memories were made.

Jaylin is survived by his mother, Sabrina K. Butler; father, Cedric Joiner; children, Nylah Butler, Mateo Butler, Gianna Butler; Sebastian; siblings, Nakya Butler-Mocherman, Jaciahna Whitt, Ashtine Zulu, Micah Shabazz, Cedric Joiner; grandparents, Michelle Mickel, Cindy Steward, David Butler; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends; and the mothers of his children, Mya Champlin and Michelle Engel.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Joann Butler and cousin, Josiah Butler.

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Friday, January 30, 2026, from 12 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the Burkhead-Green-Kilgo Funeral Home 206 W. Lawrence Ave., Charlotte, MI 48813.
