Jane Love, age 70, of Charlotte, Michigan, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on September 16, 1955, Jane was the daughter of Henry Frederick Attwell and Norene Jeanece (Wickert) Attwell. She was a graduate of Charlotte High School, Class of 1973.

Though standing just 4'10", Jane had a personality much larger than her stature. She was known for her fierce independence, adventurous spirit, and wild side! She lived life on her own terms, never afraid to speak her mind or chart her own path. To know Jane was to know a feisty little spitfire who knew how to have fun!

The Fourth of July was always Jane's favorite holiday. Some of her fondest memories were made celebrating at Rifle River with family, enjoying campfires, laughter, and fireworks. It seems only fitting that she made her journey home on the holiday she loved most.

Earlier this year, Jane experienced the heartbreaking loss of her beloved Rick. Just thirteen days later, she suffered a stroke. On July 3, she became suddenly ill. Surrounded by the love of her family, Jane passed away peacefully on the evening of July 4 as fireworks were going off in the background.

Jane is survived by her daughter, Teresa Taylor; her son, Shannon Kingsbury, and his wife, Tanisha Kingsbury; seven grandsons, one granddaughter, and several great-grandchildren; along with many extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her beloved, Rick Shirk; her parents, Henry Frederick Attwell and Norene Jeanece (Wickert) Attwell; and other loved ones who welcomed her home.

Jane will be remembered for her adventurous heart, unwavering determination and the way she embraced life on her own terms. Her strength and spirit will never be forgotten. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
