Glenn Earl Schmeltz

Glenn Earl Schmeltz, age 75, of Charlotte, passed away on May 7, 2026, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He lived a life marked by hard work, kindness, and a genuine desire to help others. Glenn was born on December 24, 1950, in Plymouth, Indiana, to Louis and Lucille (Forsythe) Schmeltz. He graduated with the class of 1971 from John Glenn High School in Walkerton, Indiana.

Early in his career, he worked in construction, pouring concrete—a job that matched his dedication and skill with his hands. In his later years, he found great joy working at Maple Brook Golf Course, where he continued to demonstrate his strong work ethic and commitment to doing things well.

Those who knew Glenn remember him as a man with a servant’s heart. He was always ready to lend a hand and support those around him. Glenn's kind nature and unique spirit made him one-of-a-kind to all who crossed his path. He put his whole self into everything he did, and when a task was complete, it was done thoroughly and with care.

Glenn is survived by his sisters, Bonnie Stephenson and Doris Schmeltz, who remember him fondly. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Susanne.

A memorial gathering will take place on Monday, June 15, 2026, at 6 P.M. at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #3352 located at 116 Lansing Street, Charlotte, MI 48813.
