Dolores Louise McCoy

Dolores Louise Von Braun Ostroske Thiel Rochefort McCoy passed away peacefully on the morning of December 11, 2025. She leaves behind a legacy of love and joy that radiated out to all who knew her. In a life that spanned nearly a century, Dolores could be found hosting teen dances with her husband John in Howell, Michigan in the 1950s and 1960s, feeding employees at the Sterling Heights Van Dyke Chrysler plant in the 1970s, and running the Northern Foods restaurant in Gaylord, Michigan with her husband Fernand in the 1980s. Dolores was active in the church wherever she lived across Michigan throughout her long life. 

She was preceded in death by her husbands John Reinhardt Thiel, Fernand Rochefort, and Woodrow McCoy. 

She is survived by her son, Dr. John Michael Thiel, daughter-in-law Barbara (Polack) Thiel, grandsons and granddaughters-in-law John Robert (Amanda), Michael (Nicole), and James (Lisa), as well as great-grandchildren Jackson, Alexander, Caitlin, Nora, Luke, Emilia, and Andrew. 

At her request, there will be no visitation or service. The family appreciates all of the well-wishes and words of support that have poured in since her passing, which proves how special Dolores truly was.
