David Dean Wolcott, age 58, of Charlotte, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2024. He was born November 29, 1965, in Charlotte. He went on to graduate from Charlotte High School with the Class of 1984. On April 20, 1992, he married Brenda Kay Hackworth. Dave was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved his family and did his very best to provide for them all. Dave had a great sense of humor and was always making light out of any situation. His dog, Rusty meant a lot to him and they were together whenever possible. He loved anything with a motor. Whether it was a Harley Davidson, mud truck, rat rod, or race car, he loved them all. Dave was a talented welder and fabricator. He could build or fix just about anything. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors and hunting on occasion.
Dave is survived by his wife, Brenda; daughters, Heather (Jason) Whaley of Virginia Beach, VA, Shauwna (Ashtin “Bean”) Bryan of Charlotte; granddaughter, Ella Whaley, Emory Whaley; mother, Linda (Dan) VanDorpe; mother-in-law, Hazel Hackworth; and sister-in-law, Pam Hackworth.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 9, 2024, at 11 A.M. at the Burkhead-Green-Kilgo Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Bosworth Cemetery.
