Camilla Mary (Motz) Smith, age 86, of DeWitt, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, August 30, 2025. She was born July 27, 1939, in Fowler, Michigan the second of seven children to Herman and Magdalen (Arens) Motz. Cam graduated from Fowler High School with the class of 1957. On May 21, 1960, she married Darwin Smith at St. Mary Cathedral in Lansing. Cam worked at many jobs throughout her life. She was a seamstress, sold Tupperware for over 28 years, provided daycare to many area children, and even worked at Oldsmobile. But above all else she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a prayer warrior and could often be found praying the Rosary. In her spare-time Cam also enjoyed writing, singing, dancing, Neil Diamond music, and spending time with the many great people she knew and loved in her 86 years.

Cam was predeceased in death by her parents, Herman and Magdalen Motz; husband, Darwin; son-in-law, Raul Felman; siblings, Mike (Shirley) Motz, Steve Motz, Gwen (Maurice) Dershem, Mary (Larry) Bradbury; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Nelson and Anna (Szedlak) Smith; brothers and sisters-in-law, Enza Viges, Peter Schrauben, Louise (Don) Hamilton, Bob (Betty) Smith, and Marilyn (Dick) Fedewa.

She is survived by her children; Tim (Alice) Smith of Grand Ledge, Tamara (Dennis) Boutwell of Bath, Todd Smith of Delta Township, Troy (Melissa) Smith of Delta Township, and Traci Felman of Lansing. Additionally, she was a grandmother to six grandchildren; Justin (Sarah), Jason, Joshua (Lily), Kyle, Kelsey, Jonathan; a great-grandmother to six great-grandchildren; Kaidan, Cameron, Owen, Camilla, Collins, and Charlotte who will all carry forward her spirit and values. Cam also leaves behind her sisters, Isabel Viges and Joanie Schrauben; sister-in-law, Pat (Butch) Carter; as well as several nieces, nephews, and countless friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Catholic Community of St. Jude on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at 11 A.M. with Rev. Fr. Bob Irish celebrating. The family will receive friends on Monday from 3 P.M. to 6 P.M. at the church with the rosary being prayed at 6:00 P.M. Burial will take place at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in Fowler.
