Brian Gerard Strahan, age 66, was born on March 3, 1960, in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Emmett "Jack" and Ilene (Lonczkowski) Strahan. He passed away peacefully on March 31, 2026, in Charlotte, Michigan, surrounded by his beloved family. Brian lived a life marked by dedication to those he cherished most. On October 28, 1994, Brian married the love of his life, Kathy Sue Barnes.
A proud graduate of Lansing Catholic High School class of 1978, Brian embarked on a career as a heavy equipment operator. Those who knew him best would often speak of his great sense of humor, which brightened many a day and family gathering alike.
Above all, Brian was a devoted family man. He found immense joy and fulfillment in the company of his wife, children, and grandsons. His home was often filled with laughter and warmth, where he could be found playing poker with family and friends, indulging in rounds of golf, and applying his hands skillfully to woodworking projects.
Brian is survived by his wife of 31 years, Kathy; children, Heather (Greg) Paquette of Alaska, Michael (April) Strahan of Charlotte, Matthew (fiancé Lindy Erk) Strahan of Charlotte; grandsons, Kim, Lucas, Leeum, Conrad, Jack; siblings, Jim (Mary Kay) Strahan, Kevin (Liz) Strahan, Mickey (Jerry) Ellsworth; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Michael Strahan.
Private services will be held and the burial will take place at Maple Hill Cemetery in Charlotte.
